Here are some easy tips to keep your new Remote Control in great shape and battery-leak–free
Use quality alkaline or lithium batteries — cheaper ones can leak faster, especially if exposed to heat.
Remove batteries when storing the van or if you won’t use the remote for a few weeks.
Store the remote in a dry, cool spot (not in the van dash or in direct sunlight).
Clean the battery compartment occasionally with a cotton swab and a touch of vinegar to remove any corrosion traces.
Check annually — even if still working — and replace old batteries proactively.
